Whidbey Affordable Housing Fund Donate People who live and work on Whidbey are facing increasing challenges in finding affordable housing. When teachers, restaurant workers, farmers and so many others struggle to afford a place to live on the island, it affects the community and all of us as individuals. The ripple effects of the housing crisis reach everyone who lives here, even if they are stably housed.

The Whidbey Affordable Housing Fund will distribute grants to nonprofit organizations working on affordable housing solutions on Whidbey Island.
Whidbey Climate Fund Donate The Whidbey Climate Fund is a radically local approach to mitigating our personal carbon pollution. Individuals and businesses can offset their carbon footprint by making a donation to the Whidbey Climate Fund. Funded projects will directly reduce contributions to climate change or mitigate against the effects of climate change, including but not limited to: forest conservation and reforestation, supporting clean energy solutions for businesses and individual homes, improving water and carbon sequestration in the soil, and reducing impermeable surfaces.
Designated Funds
Essential Needs Program Donate This Fund was established to support the Whidbey Island Essential Needs Program currently administered by the Opportunity Council Island County Service Center. WCF and Goosefoot Community Fund have partnered as lead fundraisers for the program. The Essential Needs Program is available to help Whidbey Island friends and neighbors with practical needs like housing set-up expenses, utilities, and one-time extraordinary expenses like car repairs. It is designed to help members of the Whidbey Island community when no other existing assistance is available.
Friends of the Coupeville High School Future Generations Scholarship Fund Donate The Coupeville High School Future Generations Endowed Scholarship was established to help CHS athletes achieve their college goals through a sustainable fund that provides annual scholarships. Whidbey Community Foundation manages the endowment, ensuring donations are invested for long-term growth, while the Community Foundation for Coupeville Public Schools administers the scholarship program and selects recipients. Donations of any amount are welcome, with special recognition for gifts of $500 or more, ensuring the fund continues to grow and support students year after year.
Whidbey Island Imagination Library Donate The Imagination Library initiative seeks to increase early childhood literacy. This fund assists those efforts to provide free books to Whidbey Island children from birth up to age five. Your generosity ensures Whidbey Island children enter Kindergarten ready to succeed in the classroom and beyond. With the gift of books, you're helping to build a strong foundation for our babies to become Kindergarten ready!
Whidbey Veterans Job-Assistance Fund Donate The Whidbey Veterans Job-Assistance Program is a pilot program started by local donors, Whidbey Community Foundation, and Opportunity Council. The program's goal is to help unemployed Vets on Whidbey Island obtain a full-time job. To be considered, applicants submit a simple online application with the Opportunity Council Island County Service Center indicating what the request is for and how it will help directly lead to a specific, full-time job with a brief explanation of financial assistance needed.
